Hello!
My name is Rodrigo Passos and I'm a Sound Designer and Composer for media, but mainly video games.
From an early age, I was always surrounded by music — my parents, grandparents, uncles — my whole family had a strong connection to it, and naturally, I gravitated in that direction. At the same time, I developed an early bond with games through my father, who works with programming. The first video game I ever played was his Master System.
After completing four years of a Music degree, my curiosity about sound pushed me to understand how audio worked in cartoons and games. That’s when I started collaborating with two classmates who were developing small games at university.
In 2016, I began an internship at Tapps Games, a Brazilian mobile game studio based in São Paulo. After two years there, by the end of 2018, I decided to move into freelance work, feeling the need to broaden my horizons and explore different kinds of projects.
Since then, I’ve been involved in a wide range of independent projects as a freelance contractor, most recently working with Funtrain VR.
Services

Trilha Sonora
I have experience creating all kinds of music, from orchestral to electronic. With knowledge of recording and real musical instruments, I add a unique personality to your soundtrack.

Efeitos Sonoros
I create sound effects using a mix of foley, sound libraries, synthesis, and editing. No effect I make is ever the same as the next, and I always ensure they belong to the same universe, creating sonic cohesion and consistency.

Implementação
In addition to using systems like FMOD and Wwise to build audio systems, I can also use Blueprints and visual scripting to implement sounds directly where they should play in the game.
Gamejams
I love sharpening my skills by putting myself in situations that demand quick thinking and improvisation, because it helps me feel more prepared for projects that allow for longer planning phases. One of the best ways to do this is by taking part in game jams — and on top of that, they’re a lot of fun. Working this way also taught me that every project comes with different working styles and personalities, and that patience and collaboration are essential lessons you can only truly learn by working together.
In the video below you can take a look at a project that I worked as a Lead Sound Designer in a gamejam.
